A very popular and trendy club where champagne also bubbles after new years. There's a great view on the harbour and citycenter in this old building that was formerly used by PTT. It will only be open for 2 1/2 years so let's enjoy it while we can!

De 9 straatjes
A very beautiful and cosy area with good secondhand shops and designer boutiques, warm cafes and restaurants.....!

Haarlemmerstraat
A street that is especially good for gift and foodshopping. You will find many nice bars and restaurants there too.

De Nes
This street (De Nes) has three theaters, a few restaurants and café’s to chill out. It’s right in the center and worth a walk. Have a wonderful meal at Van Kerkwijk (Nes 41, 020 - 620 33 16)!

Nieuwezijdse Voorburgwal
This street houses various bars and clubs, with Café Bep, Café Diep and Getaway Café as most people’s favourites.

Nieuwmarkt
This neighborhood and especially the square are worth a visit. There are several bars and shops around and the Waterlooplein (a famous fleemarket) is just down the street where you can do your secondhand shopping.

A classic place situated just off the end of the Rokin. The interior is very spacious with high ceilings and a restaurant upstairs offering good food and a salad bar. Very popular and rightly so, it’s worth a visit.

Funny bar divided in two stories. There’s a restaurant downstairs where you can have a fairly cheap and simple meal, and a bar upstairs that has this mosaic on the wall exposing a cow. A very good ‘brown café’ in Amsterdam, located close to the Leidseplein. De Zotte is a smoky place with a great bottle selection (somewhere around one-hundred!) which is largely Belgian with a few others mixed in. They also serve some good food and snacks like the ‘boerenbrood with garlicbutter’.
